Selling photos

Charging for photos beyond the package, a price for the whole gallery, online and offline payment.

How to charge for photos beyond the package You enter how many photos the session price includes and how much each extra one costs. Picvelo counts the extras for you and won't release the files until they're paid. How to connect a payout account You set up a payout account once, on the Billing & plan page. Stripe runs it, the money goes straight to you, and Picvelo takes 2 percent of online payments. Without this account, sales still work, just with direct payment. Why can't I download photos before payment? When your client picks more photos than the package, downloading the selected files is locked until they pay. The lock applies to you too, and that's on purpose. Where to see orders and payments Picvelo has no list of orders. You hear about each one from the bell and by email, and a pending direct order shows up on the gallery page, below the status card. How photo sales work in Picvelo You set up sales in each gallery, not for the whole account. There are two separate offers: a charge for photos beyond the package and one price for the whole gallery. Your client pays by card through Stripe or pays you directly. Fees and payouts: when you get your money For card payments Picvelo takes 2 percent, and the rest goes straight to your Stripe account. For direct payments we take nothing. Stripe sets the payout schedule, not us. Do photo sales depend on your plan? No. Sales work on every plan, including the free one, and don't count toward any limit. Only the usual gallery and storage limits apply. Photo sales not working? What to check The most common cause is one of the two fields left empty. Below is a list of things to check in order, from most to least common. Price lists vs photo sales: what's the difference A price list is for show: a list of items with prices typed as text. It doesn't calculate anything or take payments. Only the three fields in the sales section of Gallery settings take money. How to refund or cancel an order Picvelo doesn't handle refunds or cancellations for photo orders. You refund a card payment in your Stripe dashboard, and for a direct payment you simply give the money back. The order status in Picvelo stays the same. "Photos in package" vs "Photos included": what's the difference Gallery settings has two fields with almost the same name. One controls the counter your client sees, the other calculates the money. If you enter different numbers, your client will see a different number of extras than they pay for. How to sell the whole gallery for one price The "Full gallery ($)" field gives your client a button with a set price for the complete set. It works separately from extra-photo charges, and it's the only sales option that shows the price right in the gallery. How to sell without a payout account Sales still work without Stripe. Your client places an order in the gallery, pays you directly, and you confirm it with a button on the gallery page. Picvelo takes no fee in this case. What your client sees when they go over the package Your client sees a counter with the extra photos, but the extra-photo price isn't in the gallery. It only appears on the payment page. The only price shown directly is the one for the whole gallery.
