How to refund or cancel an order

Picvelo doesn't handle refunds or cancellations for photo orders. You refund a card payment in your Stripe dashboard, and for a direct payment you simply give the money back. The order status in Picvelo stays the same.

1

Refunding a card payment

The money went straight to your Stripe account, so you refund it at the source. Sign in to your Stripe dashboard, find the payment and issue a refund. The Picvelo fee for that transaction isn't returned automatically, so if you refund the full amount, write to us.

2

Refunding a direct payment

There's nothing to undo in the system here. You give the money back the same way you got it. You can't undo the Payment received click, so the order stays marked as settled.

3

Cancelling an order

A client who starts a card payment and doesn't finish it just goes back to the gallery. That abandoned order stays in the system as unpaid and doesn't unlock anything, so you don't need to cancel it.

You can't delete a direct order from the panel. If your client changed their mind, ignore the box on the gallery page and don't confirm the payment.

4

How to take away access after a refund

If, after refunding the money, you want your client to lose access to the selected files, do it by hand: in the Gallery settings window, switch the status from Approved to In progress, or change the client's password (the Edit button on the client's page). The order in Picvelo stays marked as paid.
