Picdrop alternative

Picvelo or Picdrop?

Picdrop is a proofing and delivery tool from Berlin with annotations, Capture One export and team plans. Picvelo does a narrower job for less money, in your client's own language. Below is when each one makes sense.

Where Picdrop is stronger

Picdrop has been around for more than 12 years and covers more feedback and workflow tools than we do.

  • Scribbles on images, color markers, likes and team voting for client feedback
  • Selection export to Lightroom and Capture One, plus Live Push from the camera
  • Team plans with roles and permissions, and video conversion and playback

Where Picvelo is easier to live with

We do the gallery, the selection and the payment for extra photos, and charge less for it.

  • Pro is 7 EUR a month for 50 GB. Picdrop Pro is 14.99 EUR net for 500 GB
  • The client gallery in Polish, English or German
  • 30 days of Pro on a new account, with no card
What you pay for

Picdrop lists Free (1 GB, 3 galleries), Pro 14.99 EUR, Advanced 39.99 EUR and Business 99.99 EUR a month, net prices (October 2026, monthly billing). Picvelo Pro is 7 EUR for 50 GB.

Client feedback

Your client marks a check, a heart or a reject and can comment on any photo. No sign-up: you send the client a login and password.

Handoff to editing

After the client confirms, you get a list of file names to paste into a Lightroom filter, or a ZIP of working copies.

Support

You write to us and the person who built this answers. Usually the same day.

Frequently asked questions

How is Picvelo different from Picdrop?

Both let a client open a gallery without an account and pick photos. Picdrop adds scribbles on images, team voting, Capture One export, Live Push from the camera and team plans. Picvelo covers the gallery, the selection, comments and payment for extra photos, at a lower price and with the client side in Polish, English or German. If your clients need to mark up details on a photo, Picdrop fits better.

How much does Picvelo cost compared with Picdrop?

Picvelo: a free plan (3 galleries, 10 clients, 2 GB), Pro at 7 EUR a month or 75 EUR a year with 50 GB, Studio at 15 EUR a month or 150 EUR a year with 200 GB. Every new account gets 30 days of Pro without a card. As of October 2026 Picdrop lists Free with 1 GB and 3 galleries, Pro at 14.99 EUR a month with 500 GB, Advanced at 39.99 EUR with 1 TB and Business at 99.99 EUR with 3 TB, all net prices. Picdrop offers an annual option too, which we did not price. Check the competitor pricing at the source, it changes.

Picdrop vs WeTransfer vs Picvelo: what is the difference?

WeTransfer sends files as a link and is not built for proofing. Picdrop and Picvelo are both galleries where the client opens a link, looks at the photos and marks favorites. Picdrop has the wider set of feedback and team tools. Picvelo has the lower price and also handles payment for extra photos. If you only need to move one big folder once, a transfer link is enough.

What does Picvelo not have that Picdrop has?

Scribbles on images, team voting, Capture One export, Live Push from the camera and file versions are on Picdrop and not in Picvelo. Picdrop also has plans for larger teams. If one of those decides your workflow, try Picdrop first. We would rather you pick the right tool.

Can I move my galleries from Picdrop to Picvelo?

There is no automatic import and we will not pretend otherwise. You switch one session at a time: create an account, upload your next session and send the client a link. Finish the old galleries where they are. For a larger archive, write to us and we will help you sort it out.
