FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Picvelo.

What is Picvelo?
An online gallery for photographers. After a shoot you upload the photos, send your client access, and they mark the shots they want edited. You get a ready list instead of numbers copied from messages. Finished files go out from the same gallery, as a ZIP.
Does the client need an account?
No. Only you create an account. The client gets a login and password from you, and their e-mail address also works in the login field if you saved it. Nothing to install, the gallery runs in the browser on phone and desktop.
How much does Picvelo cost?
The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card: 3 galleries, 10 clients and 2 GB of storage. Every new account also gets 30 days of full Pro, and afterwards drops back to Free instead of closing. Current Pro and Studio rates are on the pricing page.
Do galleries expire after a few days?
No. A gallery lives as long as your account does, on the free plan too. Clients come back to their photos after a month or a year, at the same address. The selection deadline is a separate thing you set yourself: after it the gallery stays viewable, only marking photos is locked.
Can a client download the originals early?
Not from the selection gallery. There the client sees only watermarked previews carrying their own name, with EXIF data and GPS location stripped out. The source files stay with you. Final photos go out separately, through the delivery gallery, only once you share it.
Can I sell extra photos to a client?
Yes. You set how many shots the package includes and what each extra one costs. When the client picks more, Picvelo works out the surcharge and holds the files until payment. We take 2% on online payments and nothing on direct settlements (bank transfer, cash), on every plan.
Does Picvelo print prints and albums?
No, and we do not plan to. Picvelo is fully online: you sell digital files and order prints wherever you like. That is a deliberate choice, not a missing feature. We do not want to tie you to one lab or add a middleman cut to your margin.
What languages does the gallery support?
The photographer panel and the client gallery work in Polish, English and German. The client switches language in their own gallery, so you never have to explain buttons over the phone.
Where are the photos stored?
On servers in the European Union, in line with the GDPR. For your clients data Picvelo acts as processor and you as controller; the terms are set out in the data processing agreement among the legal documents. You can export a copy of your account data as a JSON file at any time.
How do I start?
Create an account with your e-mail, no card required. Add a client, create a gallery, upload the photos from your next shoot and send them access. The first gallery takes a few minutes, and you get full Pro for 30 days, so you can test the whole process on a real job.
