Photo security

Your photos stay under control until you deliver them

The client browses and selects photos, but the originals stay with you. Every preview carries a watermark with the client's name, so a screenshot is useless.

A watermark burned into the preview

Tiles cover the whole frame, not a corner. Picvelo puts your client's name into them, for example "Kate and Tom, proof", and burns it into the preview file. A screenshot comes out marked, so it is no good for Instagram or for print.

  • Burned into the preview file, not a browser overlay, it survives a screenshot
  • Your PNG graphic or text with client name, session date, gallery name
  • Opacity, size and position under your control, tiled or a single mark

Originals never reach the client

In the proofing gallery the client only sees previews. Source files are available exclusively to you, after logging in to your panel. You hand over the originals only when you decide to, in a separate delivery gallery.

  • Gallery available after login, not from a public link
  • File addresses are random and impossible to guess
  • The selection locks after the deadline and once approved, the gallery stays available

Privacy and full control

You see what happens with the gallery, and sensitive data never leaks from the files.

  • EXIF data and GPS location stripped from previews
  • Photos blur when the client switches the browser tab
  • You see how many times and when the client viewed the gallery

Common questions about security

Can the client take a screenshot of a photo?

Yes. No website can block screenshots and we will not pretend otherwise. That is why we make the screenshot worthless: the preview carries a watermark with the client's name and is good for remembering a frame at best, not for publishing or printing.

Can the client download the original files?

Not from the proofing gallery. There the client only sees watermarked previews. You hand over the final photos separately, through a delivery gallery, once you choose to share it.

Are EXIF data and GPS location visible in the gallery?

No. Previews are regenerated from the original, so EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates of the session location, never make it into the files the client sees.

What happens when I disable the watermark?

Previews without a watermark stop being public. We serve them only after login, so someone with just a file link will see nothing.
